Dance Teacher Life ✨🤩

The “stay in your own lane” advice sounds great in theory, but in reality? It’s humanly impossible. 🚫
We train in studios lined with mirrors, dance in groups, and scroll through endless highlight reels online. I see it more and more with my students each season! It is completely natural to look around and feel those sudden stabs of doubt—thinking someone else is better, or that your own progress is moving too slow.

If you’ve felt this way this week, you are not alone, and you are not failing. I have felt this way myself at times🤍

My secret isn’t suppressing these thoughts; I JUST KEEP DANCING THROUGH THEM. Like Dori “just keep swimming, just keep swimming”… I just keep dancing,
and I ALSO SHIFT MY FOCUS. So the next time you find yourself spiraling into comparison, choose to shift that heavy energy into productivity.
Pick one thing today to ground yourself back in your own talent:
✨ Put on your favorite music and just improvise.
✨ Post that video or stage photo you love but were hesitant to share.
✨ Set a personal micro-goal and map out the exact steps to crush it.
Drown out the negative thoughts with your own momentum. Your lane is yours for a reason. 🩰
Drop a 🧠 if you needed this reminder today, or share it with a dancer who needs to hear it!
