Soon the doors open.

The old floors start creaking beneath your feet. Friends call to one another from across the room. Someone is measuring a dresser. Someone else is carrying something they absolutely did not come here to buy. 😂

It starts innocently enough.

A pumpkin here.

A few warm browns there.

Some dried florals. A cozy throw. Maybe a little rust, cream and wood…

…and suddenly FALL HAS TAKEN OVER THE BUILDING. 😂🍂

We’re not mad about it.

The Mill is slowly changing seasons, and our vendors have been busy creating the coziest little corners filled with texture, warmth, vintage pieces and those beautiful things that make a house feel like home.

And yes… we see those little ghosts sneaking in too. 👻

There’s something special about early mornings at The Painted Mill.

The air outside is a little cooler. The old floors are quiet. The lights come on one by one, and for just a few minutes, the Mill feels like she’s keeping a secret.

Everything is fluffed, arranged, rearranged, restocked and fussed over.

I get those few quiet moments to wander through and take it all in before we share it with you.

Because in just a little while, these floors won’t be quiet anymore.

And we wouldn’t have it any other way. 🤎
