Thank you Southcoast Health for giving my kids and me the opportunity to participate in such a great event. We hope as each day passes the path to understanding widens. ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🖤🤍🤎🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

As Month comes to a close, we want to express our continued support for our LGBTQIA+ patients, staff, friends, family, and community. This time reminds us to live each and every day honoring our true identity, sexuality and heart.

We’d also like to express gratitude to those who participated in our celebrations this month, including our virtual Pride panel members and event participants and the artists and others who participated in our very first chalk artist event on the “Path to Understanding” at Charlton Memorial Hospital. Creating awareness for and facilitating conversations about the difference between acceptance and understanding are just small steps to walking in another’s shoes.

While we are proud to celebrate the accomplishments of many activists over the years, we must acknowledge the large amount of work that still has to be done to defend the rights of individuals who are members of the LGBTQIA+ community, to eliminate healthcare disparities and to create a more inclusive society.
