Since its graduation season and many students will be going off to school in the fall, I thought it might be fun to assemble a small Dorm Room Toolkit. Something that a student could have in the dorm room to tackle small things. This wouldn't be a specific woodworking, or auto repair toolkit, but something just for dorm life.

If you've spent time in a dorm room, what tools would be handy to have on hand? Would you store them in a small toolbox, zipper pouch or something else? The whole toolkit needs to be compact as well. I'll likely make a video around this topic.

Today I'm making a cool, one of a kind hoof pick from an old door latch. This project has it all, hand forging metal, flamed maple, and dont forget sanding. Even if you don't need to make a hoof pick, I hope this project inspires you to try to repurpose some things around your shop or home. What may look like scrap material might just be able to be made into something awesome.
