I’ve been sitting on this post for a couple months (for some reason posting my most favorite paintings seems daunting) - this lady is my most favorite I’ve ever made. Her image and vibe came to me during a meditation, but it took me a year to actually start the painting. I was only painting animals at the time and wasn’t sure if I wanted to paint people again just yet, but now that I’ve stepped through that door I plan to keep going. I had a very specific energy in mind for this piece - a higher octave of feminine energy, spiritual without being religious, kind of a ‘secular saint’, if you will. My intention was to capture this serene, fully-embodied magnetic energy of the woman in my meditation in my portrait of her. Anyway, I love her and I hope you do too.
I will have a limited amount of 8x12 prints of her for sale at Canal Days next month, but I definitely plan to do some larger prints possibly embellished with gold leaf in the future, so stay tuned!
