A Prayer for Our Dance Family 🤍
Dear Heavenly Father,
I come to You with a heart that is broken. As a teacher, I have had the privilege of watching so many young dancers grow—not only in their dancing, but in confidence, friendship, courage, and love. Our dance family is hurting because one of those beautiful souls has been taken from us far too soon.
Lord, I don’t have the words to make this pain go away. I don’t know how to explain a loss like this to the dancers who are looking to us for answers. So instead, I ask You to simply be near.
Please watch over our dancers. Their hearts are hurting, and each one will grieve differently. Give them permission to cry, to remember, to talk, to be quiet, and to lean on each other. Help them understand that they don’t have to be strong all the time.
And Lord, please give our staff strength. Help us find the right words when words aren’t enough. Help us know when to speak, when to listen, and when simply to offer a hug. Give us the wisdom to care for these children while we are grieving ourselves.
When we walk into the studio and hear the music playing, there will be a place that feels different. There will be a space where we expect to see her. There will be moments when a song, a costume, a dance step, or a familiar laugh brings the tears back.
When those moments come, help us remember that grief is simply love with nowhere to go.
Let us honor her by continuing to dance.
May our studio become a place where her memory is carried with love—not only in our tears, but in our smiles, our laughter, our friendships, and every beautiful moment we share together.
Thank You for allowing us to know her, to teach her, to dance beside her, and to love her.
We will miss her more than words can say.
And every time we dance, a little piece of her will dance with us.
Amen. 🤍
