In rodeo, we’re fortunate to be part of moments that are bigger than the sport itself, and this weekend was no exception.

At the Dutton Ranch Darby Xtreme Ba****ck
Jess Pope donated the shirt he competed in, signed by every contestant, to be auctioned for a great cause. Richie Champion also generously donated his autographed riding vest, which was auctioned as well.

In addition, Gavin Knutson successfully rode the $10,000 bounty bull and then donated his winnings back to support Dean Thompson and Layla in their Cancer journeys.

The rodeo community continues to prove that when one of our own is in need, we come together in a way that is truly special. Each of these men did this not for recognition but we at Pickett Pro Rodeo truly appreciate their giving hearts! This weekend was a powerful reminder that rodeo is about far more than competition—it’s about heart, generosity, and taking care of each other!
