Remembering The Famous Christmas Ice Caverns

I can’t thank you all for the amount of continuing messages all throughout the year and the messages since the display has closed. Going to make a formal message tomorrow to address everyone’s concerns. In the meantime all of your favorite animated displays are safe in storage, including the Fountains of Wayne displays that I purchased over 10 years ago (bought the entire upstairs) when they closed. Willow Run, and as Creative director of the famous Christmas Ice Caverns for the last 9 years before the family sold the property, that was all my collection. Not the Fernicola family that started the display 50 years ago. Hoping to clear up everyone’s questions!

Thank you all so much for the messages today about the Animated Display and Christmas Shoppe. Our fans also always know this would be our opening day every year. You all waited for the first Saturday in November! I have been trying to respond to everyone individually but it’s a task. There are no more Christmas Ice caverns..or the Christmas store. The Fernicola Family (original creators) decided to sell the property two years ago after 50 plus years of servicing the tri-state area. They created this iconic Holiday Tradition..I just kept it alive the past 9 years. As the owner of all of the Christmas Animated Displays you have known and loved over the years..we were trying and very close to finding new location as well as pictures with Santa in March, then the covid hit. While we would love to see you all again, this year just couldn’t have happened. I thank you for your support and let’s hope 2021 will be OUR year! Miss you all!

Thank you Jean and Silvio Fernicola for creating such a magical place for generations of NorthJersey people to enjoy! Share your memories in a message to us...would love to create a page of all the generations that came to see the display over the years. As creative director for the last 9 years when I took over the display and brought it back I’d love to see some photos and memories...the Display will come back in a different way shape and form. Miss you all!!
