Meet John! With over 30 years of experience in the tattoo industry, the artist behind Labeled For Life Tattoos has dedicated his life to mastering the craft of storytelling through ink.
John, who went by “Rock” began his journey in Shreveport, Louisiana. He opened his first tattoo shop called Scaredy Tatts. The success of his first shop lead to multiple locations and training countless apprentices who went on to establish thriving careers of their own. His impact on the industry also extended through a tattoo supply company, supporting artists across the region.

Specializing in black and grey realism, his work is known for its depth, emotion, and attention to detail — creating pieces that capture both beauty and meaning.

After stepping away from tattooing for a season to follow his first love, ministry, he has now returned to the craft with a renewed purpose — blending faith and artistry to create tattoos that speak to the soul.

At Labeled For Life Tattoos, every design is created with intention, integrity, and inspiration — a reflection of the belief that we are all marked by purpose and labeled for life.

Congratulations to my son Bear for winning second place for large back peace on an awesome client who I met at a Dallas tattoo convention where even getting top 50 would have been a success! This was one of the largest accomplishments in a tattoo artists life. Bear has worked his entire life to develope this skills he has! It would’ve been incredibly hard to rank at all, let alone #2 at a national level with multi award winning artists from around the globe! (Even artists from Inkmasters) Bear kept going on his own when I gave up! This is your moment bud! I love you!
