Theatre Fairfield Fairfield University's resident theatre company Classroom theories are applied at Theatre Fairfield. A Theatre major prepares you for a multitude of careers.

The theatre program at Fairfield offers students a liberal arts education infused with the theoretical and everyday aspects of the theatre profession. The major offers a comprehensive education in the art and craft of theatre, and exposed students to its history, literature, theory, and criticism, while providing instruction in acting, directing, design, and technical theatre. Through this program, you have the benefit of being instructed by an energetic faculty and theatre professionals in acting, dance, design, directing, playwriting, production, and stagecraft. Offered as either a major or a minor in the theatre program, you learn the details necessary to produce a full production, alongside developing excellent written, verbal and artistic skills. Here, you participate in on-campus productions, and are given the opportunity to direct, design, write, and act in various styles of theatre including musicals, comedies, dramas, period and contemporary plays, and original works. Our graduates have gone on to become industry experts as well as managers, lawyers, and educators. Link to our university web page:

We’re excited to welcome internationally acclaimed solo performer Tim Miller to Fairfield University for a special day of performance, conversation, and creative exploration! 🎭

Join us Friday, October 2, in the Blackbox Theatre for a fully funded performance workshop designed for students interested in creating original performances.

✨ 12:30 PM: Performance Workshop
🍽️ 2:00 PM: Student Lunch & Conversation
🎬 2:30 PM: Public Performance

Be a part of the Indy Projects! This is our annual student-produced piece. All Fairfield students are invited to apply and propose a fully realized theatre production. Working under the guidance of the theatre program faculty and staff, students have the opportunity to produce, rehearse, design, build, and perform a show that is all their own. Student directors, designers, crew, and actors all come together for this unnfogetable experience. Learn skills in a fun and independent environment that will be valuable for a lifetime: organization, resilience, communication, performance, teamwork and more!

Previous Indy Projects have included: tick, tick...BOOM!, Next to Normal, The 39 Steps, Rabbit Hole, Proof, Doubt, and many more.

Thank you so much to our professional actors for joining Theatre Fairfield and the to put on a spectacular production of “Big River”. You all really let the light shine on! Big thanks to the for all your hard work and collaboration & to all our donors, thank you for making this possible on the big stage!
