join the SCC Chamber Choir Tuesdays at 6 pm to sing along and prepare pieces for our end-of-year concert in May! open to currently enrolled Solano Community College students and SCC staff too. practices are held in the 1200 building, music hallway - just show up and we’ll get you started.

About the show: CRESCENDO is a fun, family-friendly, and educational concert featuring Black and women composers in honor of Black History Month (February) and Women’s History Month (March). Come enjoy live music performed by the SCC Chamber Choir and SCC Chamber Orchestra! Between songs, you’ll learn about historic composers like Florence Price, the first African-American woman to have a piece played by a major orchestra, and Scott Joplin, dubbed the “King of Ragtime” who was posthumously awarded a Pulitzer Price for his accomplishments.

COME PERFORM WITH US!

If you like to sing or play an instrument, take a choir or orchestra class to get on stage! We'll practice and prepare for two fun themed concerts on the mainstage this semester.

You don't have to be a seasoned performer, a music major, or a full-time college student to join - stop by and speak to the instructor to learn more!

These one-unit classes cost about $50 to join for the entire semester, and you'll get many hours of musical training and support from Directors Reilly and Yumae.

The spring semester begins January 12 - stop in to see if it's a good fit!

This course is designed for students interested in recording audio, with a focus on:

🎤 Development of recorded performances in the studio environment
🎤 Emphasis on acoustics, vocal and instrumental recording requirements, recording control surface management, and microphone usage techniques
🎤 Organization and supervision of a tracking session, editing and mixdown, mastering and promotion
🎤 Particular attention is given to the "hands-on" experience in sound recording engineering and the overall audio recording process, including engineering, production, musical arrangement, mixdown, and studio demeanor
