Thank you to all the people who worked to make this happen.
🏁 HF 917 UPDATE – Signed Into Law 🏁
Over the past several months, we’ve shared updates on HF 917 and what it could mean for motocross in Iowa. We’re excited to share that yesterday, May 19th, Governor Reynolds officially signed it into law.
HF 917 provides important liability protections for motocross facilities by recognizing the inherent risks of motocross, helping Iowa tracks stay open and continue providing opportunities for riders and families across the state. 🏁
A huge thank you to Representative Dean Fisher, Senator Adrian Dickey, Governor Reynolds, and everyone who helped move this legislation forward or contacted their legislators in support of the bill. Your support helped make this happen. 👏
Special recognition goes to Jon Kriegel from Oak Ridge, who worked alongside Representative Fisher to help get this legislation moving. We’d also like to thank Jon and Justin Reed, Iowa Moto President, for traveling to Des Moines to represent the Iowa motocross community at the signing yesterday. 👏
This is a BIG win for motocross in Iowa and an important step toward protecting the future of our local tracks, riding opportunities, and the sport we all love. 💪
