NEPL FINALS INFORMATION
Finals will be held on July 18th at the Western Mass Pinball Club. If you want to attend finals, you will need to register your firm intent to attend so we can set the brackets and get the tournament started on time. Registration will begin at 12:00 noon on Saturday, July 11th. If you register within the first 24 hours (before 12:00 noon on July 12th) You will receive a finals spot according to your rank at season end. If you finished in the first 32 places of your division AND you register during this initial 24-hour window, you will be guaranteed a spot. If you did not finish in the top 32 in your division, I strongly encourage you to register in that initial 24-hour period anyway. Due to schedule or other factors, it may be that some of those ranked ahead of you cannot attend and you will move up accordingly. Anyone who registers their intent to attend finals after the initial 24 hours will be placed at the end of the waiting list regardless of their rank at the end of the season. Due to last minute cancellations, we usually do get some people on the waiting list in to finals.
If we do not fill up a bracket entirely with people committed to attend, we may at our discretion, invite the top ranked players of the division below to move up into a higher division. This will be voluntary; we will not force you to play in a higher division if you don’t want to. If for any reason, we do not have a full field of 32 players in any given division on the morning of the tournament, other qualified NEPL Season 37 players already in attendance will be offered any available slots. If we still cannot fill all the slots then 3 player groups may be mixed in to create 8 groups in the first round.
Scoring for Season 37 NEPL finals will be done similarly to the weekly league scoring: 7 points for first place, 5 points for second, and so on. Each round will consist of three games. The highest two scores in each group at the end of the round will advance to the next round. In a 4 player group that means 2 players with the lowest scores will be eliminated. In a 3 player group, only one player will be eliminated.
Cash Prizes will be awarded to the top 16 players per the following schedule:
1st : $250
2nd : $200
3rd : $150
4th : $100
5th-8th : $70
9th-16th : $40
Places 1 through 4 in every division will also receive an NEPL Award Plaque with the full color image of your favorite crustacean.
I’ll post registration reminders on the page as the date gets closer. If you have any questions, let us know.
Thank you all for playing and hosting another great season of the New England Pinball League! We hope to see you at finals and we hope to have you all back in September for Season 38!
Good luck. Have fun!
