Good morning my favorite people!!!! I wanted to let you know that starting Monday morning, August 31st, we will be going back to off season facility hours. These are 8am-9pm with all bodies of water and their areas closing at 8:30pm. Have a great weekend!!

Pool Safety during a Storm

As we all know, lightning is attracted to the water. So here is the answer to why we close the indoor pool along with the outdoor pool.

Indoor Pools and False Assumptions:
Many people assume that indoor pools are always safe during thunderstorms, but that's a common misconception.
Indoor pools rely on essential electrical equipment such as pumps, lighting, and filtration systems. While the building provides some protection, the pool water, metal fixtures, plumbing, and electrical systems can still conduct electricity if lightning strikes nearby.
If you can hear thunder, the safest course of action is to clear the pool immediately. Just as with an outdoor pool, everyone should remain out of the water until at least 30 minutes after the last sound of thunder.
