We are deeply saddened by the news of Maestro William Hudson's passing. William (Bill) Hudson was the Fairfax Symphony's much-loved conductor for more than 36 years from 1971 to 2007. He was instrumental in the orchestra's significant growth and well-known in the Washington, DC region and beyond.
We remember Maestro Hudson for his great achievements.
We honor his legacy in each note we play...and through our innovative education programs... as we continue after 65 years to serve thousands of people each year in our community and our schools.

We performed the national anthem of Ukraine at our concert on March 12. Thank you to all who were with us. ‘Shche ne vmerla Ukrainas’ has just one verse and one chorus, though it is one of the world’s mightiest patriotic songs. It was formally adopted less than three decades ago, following the country’s independence from the Soviet Union in 1991. While formally known as the ‘State Anthem of Ukraine’, it also goes by its native title ‘Shche ne vmerla Ukrainy’, which translates into English as ‘Ukraine Has Not Yet Perished’.
