Initially founded in the fall of 2007, GMU Bhangra strives to demonstrate Punjabi culture through traditional music and dance. In a short time, the team has exceeded its goals, winning and placing in numerous competitions. Performing as a co-ed team, GMU Bhangra won the following:

1st place at Texas Bhangra 2009
1st place at UMW's Bhangra Beat in 2009
3rd place at CMU's Bhangra in the Burgh in 20

2nd place at 2012 JC Mela Competition in New Jersey
3rd place at CMU's Bhangra in the Burgh in 2013
1st place at W&M's Nach Ke Dikha 2016
2nd place at GWU's Bhangra Blowout 2016

We hope to spread awareness of Punjabi culture throughout the local community, and has participated in community culture shows, the GMU talent show, local Punjabi melas.
