CONGRATULATIONS to Mason strings students and Prof. Huang on their outstanding presentation at the ASTA national Conference in San Francisco! Please join us on Monday, March 2nd, 2026 for our March Orchestra Concert, featuring the Mason Symphony Orchestra, directed by Dr. Soo Han. This concert will be held at our spacious Concert Hall in the Center for the Arts at George Mason University. We are excited to perform a variety of works, including a world premiere of Nostalgia Preserves, written by one of our amazing composition students, Christopher Bell.

We are elated to feature one of our concert competition winners, Suyuan Carrasco, who will perform as a soloist in Erich Korngold’s Violin Concerto in D Major.

To conclude our concert, the Mason Symphony Orchestra will perform the dynamic Symphony No. 8 by Antonin Dvorak. You won’t want to miss this!

Hello. Yesterday, Dr. Han had the pleasure of working with the 110+ musicians of the Centreville High School Symphony Orchestra, led by their wonderful teachers, Dr. Mark Taylor and Meredith Kohut, as they prepare for their March assessment. They were responsive, musical, and incredibly respectful; pencils up after every comment from the podium! 🤯 It was a joy to make music with them. They are going to be fantastic at their assessment.

TOMORROW is our Winter Festival concert! Enjoy our final performance of the semester as we perform some DYNAMIC works, featuring our orchestras and choirs. The GMU Symphony Orchestra rehearsed on stage in preparation for their upcoming concert on October 15th, 2025. We were delighted to have Dr. Monson and Dr. Balakerskaia join us as they will perform piano in Saint-Saëns’ Carnival of the Animals. We hope to see you there!
