One of the highlights of our tour was this experience at the Hiland Mountain Correctional Center. Thank you Jason Vieaux and the HMCC for the opportunity to perform and share music with everyone.

🎻 A little symphony behind the walls! 🎶

Hiland Mountain Correctional Center welcomed some very special guests when 33 members of the Fairbanks Symphony Orchestra stopped by during its Alaska tour to perform for 80 program-compliant prisoners.

The concert brought the sounds of a live orchestra inside the facility, giving participants an opportunity to experience music they might not otherwise have the chance to hear in person.

For a morning, the usual sounds of a correctional facility gave way to strings, woodwinds, brass and percussion as the musicians shared their talents with an appreciative audience.

A big thank you to the Fairbanks Symphony Orchestra for including HMCC in its Alaska tour and for sharing the power of live music with those working toward positive change. 🎼

This Sunday, May 3rd - the Fairbanks Youth Orchestras present their Spring Concert. With selections from “West Side Story” “Hamilton” and, of course, “Jurassic Park” this concert is not be be missed! 2pm at the C. W. Davis Concert Hall. Admission is free.

Thank you, Fairbanks! What a wonderful season it has been. From the birth of Edrrrawrd!, to the final notes of Opera Night, we loved playing with and for you this past season.
