Well Street Art Company is a gallery, frame shop and artist studio center established in 1999. GALLERY HOURS: Tuesday-Saturday 12-6 pm

FRAME SHOP HOURS: By Appointment

The gallery has changing monthly exhibits of Alaskan artists, both contemporary and historical. The gallery has a wide selection of antique prints and maps, as well as Alaskan art books. We feature work by many of Alaska’s best known painters, photographers, sculptors, native artists and craftsmen. We are located off Phillips Field Road in the Alaska Railroad Subdivision near downtown Fairbanks.

This September Well Street Art Company presents, “Arctic Refuge - Place in Time” by Lynn Larsen.

Larsen’s work explores the Arctic Refuge, capturing the timeless geological formations of the Brooks Range.

Excerpt from Lynn Larsen’s artist statement:
I have visited Alaska’s Arctic and Brooks Range every year since 1988, sometimes making several trips in a year. Twenty-two trips have been to the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. The paintings for this exhibit are only from my trips in the last several years to the headwaters of valleys in the Arctic Refuge on the northside of the Continental Divide: Ivishak, Echooka, Juniper Creek, and Ribdon.

Join us at Well Street Art Company for August First Friday!

This month we will be featuring a curated and juried group exhibition titled, “The Dream Show” which features 27 unique Alaskan artists from across the state.

Curator Statement:
Dreams are inherently intertwined with our personal lives and the way we experience, memorize, and catalogue the world around us. For me dreams have always been a paramount theme in my personal artwork. I wanted to facilitate a project where I could open new opportunities for Alaskan artists to showcase their work while also learning from them about their creative processes and what dreams mean to them. I have learned much from everyone who was a part of this project and I am inspired by the diversity of work that came from Alaska’s creative community. This project is made possible by the Ursa Major Grant Fund, supported by the Andy Warhol Foundation.
