The name of the quilting pattern on this one is “fernery’ and it is very appropriate. I always like using minky or fleece as backing. The dimension in the quilting is beautiful.

The quilt's colors bring summer to mind. Think lemonade, sunshine, watermelon, picnics and children playing outside.

I don’t do custom quilting very often but this request came from a special lady. She hand embroidered the lighthouse blocks and did not want the quilting over the top of the embroidery work. I stitched around it and did a different design in the pieced blocks. Then did custom in the borders. I love how it came out and hope she does to.

I was able to quilt this small pastel quilt this morning. I love pastels but almost never use them in quilts so I love when customers bring me theirs. It’s inspiring and gets my creative juices flowing. I expect to be making something in pastels soon.

This started off as someone else’s cast off. Their unfinished project they no longer wanted or desired to finish. We all have this right? You didn’t like the color or the pattern was too difficult. The design was not coming together as you had imagined.

Whatever the reason, I got a box with 2 rows sewn together and a bunch of pieces and no pattern. I worked on my design board for several days to get the correct layout.

I quilted a diamond pattern on it to try and enhance the diamonds of the quilt. I like the outcome and will be donating this one to charity for someone else to enjoy. 🥰

Christmas in March? It’s always fun to work on something different this time of year. I used red thread and the quilt is busy enough you can’t tell on the front, but the the back shows the red poinsettias in detail.

The last quilt was for my clients granddaughter. This one is for her grandson. I did a more geometric design on it to try and keep it more masculine. She was very happy with them both.
