Hurdy Gurdy Folk Music Club The Hurdy Gurdy Folk Music Club Our concerts are co-sponsored by the Borough of Fair Lawn

Bergen County's longest running stage for acoustic music, The Hurdy Gurdy Folk Music Club has, for 30 years, has been devoted to bringing the best in folk music to the Northeastern New Jersey area. Other than our name, we do not have any connection with the folk instrument, the hurdy-gurdy, so if you are looking for information or connections about that instrument, we are not the place. Visit our

website at www.hurdygurdyfolk.org or our blog at www.hurdygurdyfolk.blogspot.com

Our home is the beautiful 170 seat theater at the Fair Lawn Community Center, located at 10-10 20th Street, Fair Lawn, NJ.

Dear friends,

After a long discussion, the Hurdy Gurdy Board of Directors came to the decision to cease producing concerts. We were never able to fully regain our audience after the pandemic, and coupled with rising costs that made it difficult to produce shows, we have decided that our long run must come to an end.

We thank everyone who has supported our shows over the years - all the volunteers, the staff at the Fair Lawn Community Center and the Borough of Fair Lawn, the artists, and especially the great folks who attended our shows. We all have cherished memories of outstanding performances and friendships that were formed through our shows.

We hope that support for the music and artists that we love will continue, perhaps some other folks will start their own series in the future. Please support the other venues in our area that present the living tradition of folk music, and we hope to meet you all again in the future.

Our best wishes to you all.

Ron Olesko
President, The Hurdy Gurdy Folk Music Club

Tom Prasada-Rao has passed, but he will always remain in our hearts. I first met him at NERFA about 25 years ago, and a few years later he and Cary visited my radio show. The last time I was with him was at the Hurdy Gurdy Folk Music Club back in 2016, but we continued to e-mail and message. He sent me a copy of "$20 Bill" a few days after he posted the first video, and he was always kind. Our community lost an angel, but he will never leave our thoughts. RIP Tom, you are with us always.
