We wanted to take a moment to let you know about some changes we'll be making at The Sea Witch in the near future.
✨️🔮 Effective immediately, starting this week our new hours moving forward will be Thursdays from 11 - 5 pm, Fridays from 11 - 6 pm, and Saturdays from 11 - 3 pm. 🔮✨️
✨️ You may have noticed we aren't getting new stock in as frequently as we had in the past. Some of our customers have made special requests for new items that we just haven't been able to afford to bring in at this time. We have had numerous requests to host events at the shop, from yoga to meditation groups, and while we love these ideas we just do not have the space to adequately host those groups without completely rearranging the shop for each event. That is hard on the back and this girl is getting older! 🤣 We appreciate your thoughtful suggestions so much and hate disappointing you when we are unable to give our customers the things they want!
✨️ With tough economic times for many, including the rising cost of food, gas, utilities, medications and more, sales at the shop have been down more than ever in 2026. Event sales during pop-up events outside of the shop continue rising, and sales at those have been better than ever, especially with the new venues and increased service area we have added this year.
The hope in opening a brick and mortar shop was that I might be able to slow down on those pop up vendor events somewhat, and I was able to lessen outside vendor events in both 2024 & 2025. Simply put, so far we would not survive 2026 on the Exmore shop sales alone, hence the increase in outside pop up vendor events on our calendar.
✨️ We have unfortunately decreased our DIY Craft offerings in 2026. While we always have decent numbers sign up, and love hanging with our DIY regulars, the actual number of participants that have shown up for the last few scheduled DIY's is around 50%. We purchase supplies based on those signing up, so lately with last minute cancelations and no shows, there has been a surplus of unused extra suppliies, making these events less than cost effective to continue on a monthly basis at this time. We tried requesting payment in advance to cover material costs but that seemed to deter some folks from signing up (which we totally understand) so we nixed that. Moving forward DIY events will most likely return but be held every other month.
✨️ If you've made it this far, thank you for reading. We want to stay in our cute little shop on Main Street for years to come. It's hard to believe we've been open there for almost 3 years now and we couldn't have done that without your love and support. 💕 Please think of us when you need an out of the ordinary hostess or birthday gift (kantha quilts, soaps, crystals, candles), a new fun and funky skirt or pair of pants, crystals, incense or jewelry. Please check in on other small businesses you love, too, as it isn't just our little shop feeling the pinch these days. We are seeing an increased number of businesses close their doors for good and our goal is to ride this wave until we find calmer seas. 🌊

🪄YES we are keeping the shop open at 3286 Main Street, just under new/decreased operating hours.
🪄YES, DIY Craft Night will return but not necessarily on a monthly basis. Stay tuned for info on the next DIY event.
🪄YES, we will be popping up as a vendor nearly every weekend this Summer. Stay tuned for info on new events like The Faerie Faire at New Realm Brewing Virginia Beach and Chincoteague's Summer Vibe Fest, plus returning favorite events like Cape Charles 4th of July Celebration and more.
🪄YES, we still plan to have extended evening events with readings and guidance, stay tuned for info on the next event.
