Hi Makers 👋

I don't know about you, but it feels like summer has officially arrived at Knit Ewe Together.

The shop has been buzzing with Summer Stitch Games projects, campers learning new skills, and a crib that's slowly filling with love for our annual Baby Shower.

This is exactly the kind of summer I hoped we'd have. 💚

☀️ Summer Stitch Games Update☀️

The Summer Stitch Games are rolling right along, and I am loving all of the participation!

🌙 Midnight Makers officially began on June 14 and will run through July 4.

We've already seen players tackling challenges, earning passport stamps, and getting creative with their projects.

🧶 Last Call for Summer Camp

Today is the LAST day to register for this week's Kids Summer Camp!

We had so much fun with our first camper last week. Watching our young maker discover needle felting, and cross-stitching was so fun.

If you know a creative kiddo who might enjoy camp, now's the time!

Hi Makers 👋

This week's email is a little different because I wanted to share what's been making me smile lately........

💭 Shawna's Current Obsession

This week's obsession wasn't planned at all...

Last Saturday, Kim from River Heights Yarn Co. and I were looking for a fun project that would use mini skeins.

Something quick, colorful, and perfect for summer stitching.

Kim's friend Jocelyn (Ginger and Pepper YarnCast (https://youtube.com/?si=MeyN1SD0Mw5fOxqq) ) found the SoCal Surf Beanie (https://ravel.me/socal-surf-beanie) by Nancy Bates, and that was all it took.

Before long, Brenda joined in, and what started as pattern hunting turned into a completely impromptu Knit-A-Long!

The hat is: ✨ quick to knit ✨ perfect for minis ✨ portable ✨ ridiculously fun

We even had a soundtrack thanks to Jocelyn, who found a Spotify playlist (https://open.spotify.com/playlist/0O3NMz7IEQJCLtO6tXLaq1?si=ZgznFqLDRlOhBZA9FyURMA&pi=_YUbc6_ZQTGo-) to keep the good vibes rolling while we stitched.

One thing we discovered along the way: for the small amount of colorwork in the first ten rows, Ladder Back Jacquard (https://youtu.be/UcQns-ON1nw?si=TOyvkKsq_Q0llY91) worked beautifully. If you've never tried it before, it's a fantastic technique for managing longer floats without adding bulk.

We're putting together a limited number of SoCal Surf Beanie kits this week, so if you'd like to join the fun and make your own quick summer hat, stop by the shop before they're gone!

Sometimes the best projects aren't the ones we plan months in advance—they're the ones that happen when friends, yarn, and a good idea collide. 💚

We've already had several players complete their 48-Hour Challenge projects, and there are still two weeks left to earn that goal.

June means it's time for our annual Baby Shower!

The shop is about to get a little louder and a lot more creative.

We're excited to welcome our summer campers as they begin learning knitting, crochet, cross stitch, needle felting!

Watching young makers discover what they can create is one of the highlights of the year.

Meet Purlie the Musk Ox🐂

If you have participated in the KC Yarn Crawl, you probably recognize our mascot's cousin—the musk ox!

The musk ox was selected as our animal for the Kansas City Yarn Crawl, and while I loved the cohesiveness of our Yarn Crawl animals.....I got to thinking what if we had a version that was a little more "Knit Ewe Together". 😄

So naturally, we created one just for us!

Meet Purlie.

With her fluffy teal coat, sweet personality, and yarn-loving spirit, Purlie is our own Knit Ewe Together version of the musk ox.

You'll start seeing Purlie popping up around the shop soon on:

✨ keychains
✨ stitch markers
✨ and maybe a few surprises

I have completely fallen in love with her, and I hope you will too. 💚

This shop has always been about more than yarn.

It's about creativity, friendship, learning new things, and occasionally falling in love with a teal musk ox. 💚

Ready to earn DOUBLE TICKETS? This mini challenge is all about speed stitching! 🏃‍♀️🧶

⏱️ Your Mission:
Complete a project in 48 hours or less and earn double entries into the Summer Stitch Games prize drawings!

📋 Here's how it works:

1️⃣ Choose a project (and yes, it must be bigger than a coaster 😜)

2️⃣ Text the store a photo of:

Your yarn
Your hook or needles
A clock showing the current time

⏰ The time on your clock and the timestamp on your text must be within 5 minutes of each other.

3️⃣ Finish your project within 48 hours.

4️⃣ Text us a photo of your completed project with a clock showing the finish time.
