BBQ & Fly In on the River

BBQ & Fly In on the River The BBQ Fly-In on the River is a KCBS Sanctioned BBQ Competition held in Excelsior Springs each year. This is a KCBS sanctioned BBQ Competition event.

Activities throughout the weekend include Whiskey Tasting, Home Brew Contest, a beer garden, and live entertainment. 21st Annual Event


Now in our 22nd year, the BBQ & Fly-In on the River returns with a beautiful venue and fun-filled events for young and old. We look forward to another successful contest filled with tough competition and the aroma of smoked meats filling the air

Out of an incredible field of competitors at the 26th Annual BBQ & Fly-In on the River, TRIPLE H BBQ finished on top with a score of 711.9772 and is your 2026 GRAND CHAMPION!

🏆 Grand Champion: Triple H BBQ
🏆 Reserve Grand Champion: BBQ Maestros
🏆 Third Place Overall: Smokey Bey’s Barbecue

Congratulations to our entire Overall Top 10 and to every team that competed in Downtown Excelsior Springs this weekend!

SlowBurn BBQ - AR and Shiggin & Grinnin both earned PERFECT 180 scores, with SlowBurn BBQ - AR claiming first place!

Blind Fox BBQ finished third, followed by Smokey Bey’s Barbecue and Keep Calm & Sauce On.
