TCNJ School of the Arts and Communication is a place for creativity, connections, communication, and careers.

The School of the Arts and Communication provides an outstanding education for more than 700 undergraduate students, offering rigorous, relevant academic programs across art and art history, communication studies, interactive multimedia, journalism and professional writing, and music. Ours is a supportive community of scholars, where faculty, staff, and students work together on creative projects

and original research—the kind of action-based education that prepares new generations to lead change and solve problems in our fields.

✨ Senior Spotlight ✨

Shout out to Jennea (JJ) Jeter, recent graduate of Interactive Multimedia.

JJ will be starting the Master’s in Clinical and Counseling Psychology program at William Patterson in the fall while continuing to grow J&J Innovation, a design product business she co-founded with alum Jared Morris.

She shared, “TCNJ pushed me to wear a lot of hats at once. Between being a Learning Assistant, running Lions Gaming as president, working on the senior showcase, and completing my IMM coursework, I learned how to design more effectively, communicate across very different spaces, and show up consistently. The faculty in ArtsComm helped me connect my creative skills to real professional opportunities, and I’m excited to bring those skills with me into the field of psychology.”

What’s next: Pursuing a Masters’ of Communication and Media degree at Rutger’s University.

I gained practical experience with my courses, internships, and travelling for stte and national conferences, but I also gained experience in teamwork, leadership, and communicating. Congratulations Gracie Harkins on her BFA degree! Gracie specialized in Fine Arts and completed minors in Arts Administration and Cultural Entrepreneurship.

Gracie will be working with the Philadelphia Phillies and noted that TCNJ helped her learn it is alright to grow and take new opportunities! 👏👏

A round of applause for Isabella Darcy! Izzy earned her degree in Journalism and Professional Writing and will be working as a Communications Associate for the New Jersey Assembly!

Izzy shared, “TCNJ has prepared me for this opportunity by offering a wide range of classes within the journalism and communication studies fields. I have had wonderful professors who passed down so much of their knowledge. Additionally, getting involved with the student newspaper was integral in my career preparation. The Signal allowed me to build a portfolio, which led to internships. Those internships landed me the role I am pursuing.”

🎓 Post-grad plans: “After graduation, I’ll be doing the Disney College Program, a program that allows college students and recent graduates to work, live and learn within Disney parks and/or resorts. I’ll be living in Florida at Walt Disney World gaining experience and connections with people from around the world!”
