Center for the Arts Evergreen

Center for the Arts Evergreen A nonprofit arts organization with gallery exhibitions, classes, camps, concerts, festivals, & more!

Founded in 1975, Center for the Arts Evergreen (CAE) has spent 50 years fostering and promoting the arts in the foothills west of Denver. What began as a grassroots effort by local artists and art enthusiasts has grown into a dynamic nonprofit arts center dedicated to engaging the community through diverse exhibitions, high-quality arts education, and extensive outreach programs. In June 2024, CAE

completed a transformative $2.8M expansion, doubling its space and adding a state-of-the-art ceramics studio, private artist studios, and an Artist-in-Residence program. This expansion reinforces CAE’s role as a true community hub, providing a welcoming space for artistic exploration, education, and connection. CAE’s commitment to artistic excellence includes hosting at least 10 exhibitions annually, offering beginning-to-advanced-level visual arts and crafts classes for all ages, creative writing courses, master workshops, children’s summer camps, and teen mural and mentorship programs. Additionally, CAE presents both a gallery and an outdoor concert series, provides rental space for community businesses and nonprofits, and produces three free or low-cost arts festivals each year. A curated artisanal gift shop at the Center showcases and supports local artists. Beyond the walls of the Center, CAE’s robust outreach initiatives use the power of art to engage underserved and socially isolated populations, ensuring that creativity is accessible to all.

🌾 A little Van Gogh. A couple of drinks. A very good Tuesday night!

You'll start with a pre-sketched canvas, so you can jump right into the fun part: bold brushstrokes, vibrant layers of color, rolling fields, swirling skies, and those iconic cypress trees. Jessica will guide you step by step, but there's plenty of room to loosen up and make the painting your own.

And because it's Art Bar, your night includes:

🎨 All supplies + instruction
🍷 Two beverages (wine, beer, or non-alcoholic)

Tuesday, September 1 | 6–8 PM

Meet M Rathsack, our newest Artist-in-Residence. 💚

Her studio space is officially set up, and if you’re at CAE over the next few months, there’s a pretty good chance you’ll find M either creating in her space or getting her hands dirty over in the ceramics studio.

M is a ceramic artist (and Dancing Potter!) known for her abstract slab-built wall pieces, raku firing, assemblage, and work inspired by the natural world.

She also has a very cool goal she’s hoping to accomplish during her residency. We could tell you what it is... but where’s the fun in that? You’ll have to stop by, meet M, and ask her yourself. 😉

We’re also working on some opportunities for you to create alongside her, so keep an eye out for upcoming classes.

M will be with us through the fall. Come say hi, peek into what she’s working on, and follow along with her residency here at CAE.

And yes, there may be dancing. 💃

Welcome to CAE, M! 💚

Spend this Saturday learning the art of stained glass with Andy Olson and leave with a handcrafted mirror made entirely by you.

In this one-day workshop, Andy will walk you through the stained glass process from start to finish. You'll learn how to score, cut, break, shape, and assemble glass as you design a colorful frame around your own mirror.

Never worked with stained glass before? No problem. This workshop is beginner-friendly, with plenty of hands-on guidance and room to make the design your own.

The reduction kiln is firing up TOMORROW! ✨🏺

Reduction firing is ceramic magic where heat, atmosphere, and glaze come together to create colors and finishes you just can’t get in a traditional firing. Shinos, temmokus, and plenty of beautiful surprises.

Our next reduction firing starts tomorrow, Saturday 8/22 at 9:30 AM and will run throughout the day.

Have a pot ready to go? Get it onto our reduction firing shelf today and come back next week to see how the kiln transformed it!

And good news, ceramic artists: we’ll be firing up the reduction kiln more often this fall. Get signed up for studio time with classes or open studios at CAE:
