Bringing Ocean Magic to Wood! Week 2 🌊✨
My young artists took on a wonderful creative challenge—painting with vibrant acrylics on round wooden plaques! Moving from flat canvas to textured wood allowed the kids to explore rich blending, layering, and realistic details.
From glowing ocean waves and gentle sea turtles to swirling sky tones, each student created a unique masterpiece to take home. Working on natural wooden bases gave every piece such a warm, finished feel!
In this workshop, students practiced:
🔸Acrylic Blending: Creating smooth color transitions for ocean depths and skies.
🔸Surface Technique: Adapting brushwork and paint opacity to smooth wooden surfaces.
🔸Fine Detail Work: Layering highlights and textures to bring underwater scenes to life.
