Buckwheat Music Camp is happening right in Evart—the longtime home of a beloved dulcimer festival—so it’s the perfect place to dive into both hammered and lap dulcimer with people who truly love this music. You can spend the week exploring techniques, learning new tunes, and playing in a community that already understands why these instruments are so special.

Every night there are instructor performances, themed evenings like Irish pub sessions and h***y tonk showcases, song circles, campfire jams, and student-led “Y.O.Y.O.” jams that go on into the night. It’s a whole week of music, stories, and connection at the Osceola County Fairgrounds in Evart.

People arrive feeling shy about their playing or unsure about their voices. Over the week, in a supportive circle of instructors and campers, they tune in a little more, try a tune in a small group, and eventually find themselves jumping into jams they never thought they’d be brave enough to join.
