Today's featured dancer Vikas Anand

Number of years dancing: Since I was 6 years old
Favorite style: Bhangra

What inspires you to dance? Dance is my meditation. The complete focus and intention required of both body and mind—it forces me to be fully present in the moment. Plus, it’s crazy fun!

What is your most memorable moment associated with your dancing passion? Bollywood Bash is still fresh in my mind so let's go with that! I love teaching, especially to a group as open and dedicated as ours was (shout out to the bhangra crew!).

Fun Fact: More of a fun tip: Want to go to an Indian wedding? Learn to dance! I've been invited to more than my fair share of weddings-- they love people who can perform!

Today's featured dancer: Jethro Cessant

Hometown: Miami, FL
Years dancing: Since I knew I couldn't play sports
Favorite style: Dancehall, salsa
Favorite dance movie: You got served

What inspires you to dance: Dancing is a fun way to connect with people from different cultures. Some of my closest friends I've made through dance even if we don't speak the same language.

Favorite dance memory: I joined a dance team while studying abroad in Tokyo and was asked to teach the team how to twerk after the choreographer became frustrated that none of the Japanese dancers could do it correctly.

Fun fact: If you think I'm extra, I have two brothers who like to dance and we have choreographed steps we perform whenever and wherever we can. It's me x3!

Hometown: Honolulu, Hawaii
Favorite style: Hip-hop, belly dance

What inspires you to dance: It's a source of such joy. All the stress in life fades away when I'm dancing.

What is your favorite dance memory: My first performance freshman year. One of my friends came in from out of town and sat in the first row. I was so excited to see her that I completely "broke character" in the middle of the piece and stuck my tongue out at her. My choreographer wasn't happy, but it's always been a happy memory for me.

Fun fact: I'm from Hawaii and I love country music.

Hometown: Mumbai, India
Years dancing: As long as I can remember!
Favorite style: Contemporary, Hip-Hop, Bollywood

What inspires you to dance: I feel the closest to myself when I dance. It helps me feel pure joy and lifts up my day!

What is your favorite dance memory: When I was on an Indian dance reality TV show till the regional rounds! It was the most exciting and humbling experience with dancing for me.

Fun fact: I never trained in any dance form till I was 21 even though I've been dancing since childhood!

Hometown: Houston, TX
Years dancing: Since three years old
Favorite style: Contemporary
Favorite dance movie: Seven wives for seven brothers

What inspires you to dance: Dance is a universal language. It doesn't matter where you're from, what languages you speak, or what culture you represent. Groupwerk is very international and we're all joined together through dance.

What is your favorite dance memory: I was a dancing toucan for Disney Productions when I was in middle school. I had a claws, a leotard and a big black toucan head. It was great.

Fun fact: I was in Mike Posner's first music video so technically I'm a video vixen.
