Shame on Eureka Valley Harvey Milk Branch of San Francisco Public Library"...on August 1st, reports San Francisco publication Mission Local, city librarian Michael Lambert met with Mandelman’s office to discuss the issue. The next day, District 8’s Eureka Valley/Harvey Milk Memorial branch began turning its Wi-Fi off after hours — a policy that San Francisco Public Library (SFPL) spokesperson Jaime Wong told The Verge via email remains in place today."

Neighbors argued the move would reduce crime.

It has been a while since I posted a video. Whoops. Matt and I participated in the Chicago independent bookstore crawl on national independent bookstore day. This is a little record of our day. Thank you to all the wonderful bookstores we visited and the one vegan icecream store Vaca’s Creamery. BOOKSTORE 15:

We did it! We got to 15 bookstores. There was a little confusion at the end with the clerk not knowing exactly how to process our completion of the challenge, but we got our pin and had a great day supporting independent bookstores.

BOOKSTORES 13 AND 14:

These two feel very familiar because they are stores we've been to often and love. The stores are only a block away from each other so we got to them both very quickly. Women and Children First are holding a bake sale for as well.

BOOKSTORE 12:

This bookstore is very cute. I love love ❤️ this neighborhood. We made a quick stop across the street for the best ice cream . We love being around here and will come back often.

BOOKSTORE 11:

A nice newer bookstore. It's pretty busy and seems like a cozy neighborhood space. We've got some traffic to contend with to get to our next stop so we were only here for a few minutes.

BOOKSTORE 10:

We have secured our 10% discount with this stop. We're are making good time and I think we will get to 15. This store was also very nice with a great selection. Chicago just has a lot of very high quality independent bookstores. We were the first people to get to 10 for this store and the event has been very popular so far. It's been a blast participating. Off to store 11!

BOOKSTORE 9:

This store is focused in horror and svi-fi/fantasy. We've never been before but will be coming back here too. Great selection and one of the best stamps for the passport all day. We're very close to hitting our goal of 15 stores! 📖

BOOKSTORE 8:

This is a great bookstore with so many incredible independent works and zines to buy. We had a bit of a hard time parking and it's raining a lot so we had to get going quick but we love this place. I got a really beautiful looking book as well.

BOOKSTORE 7:

This amazing store is run by a nonprofit that supports youth writing and publishing. Everything in here is incredibly fun. We bought a few books that teens in the 826 programs wrote and this is another shop we have to come back to when we're not racing against the clock.

BOOKSTORE 6:

This place is very cool. I love it. It was bit crowded today which is to be expected but we will definitely be back. Matt found a copy of Ascension which he's been looking for at every store so far. We've got a little ways to go to get to store 7 bur we're making good time. 👍
