According to Indian philosophy, creation itself is born from Nada-Brahma, the primordial sound, and through this sound, we connect to something higher than ourselves. This philosophy lies at the heart of The Sonic Prayer.

A celebrated sarod artist, composer, and collaborator, Alam Khan bridges tradition and innovation. Whether performing classical ragas or genre-defying contemporary work, his music flows from a deeply personal devotion to sound. Alam has worked across disciplines – from Indian classical music to contemporary composition and cinematic scoring – with an approach that always centers emotional truth and deep listening. Alam Khan’s music goes beyond entertainment – it is a sacred offering, an opportunity to connect with the divine, transcend the ordinary, and experience the sacred power of sound. Just as his father, Ali Akbar Khan, was a messenger of the cosmos, Alam now brings that same connection to the world.

Alam’s lineage traces to Mian Tansen, the legendary 16th-century court musician of the Mughal Emperor Akbar. Alam’s grandfather, Acharya Baba Allauddin Khan, was the teacher and guru to the most revered figures in Indian classical music: sarod master Ustad Ali Akbar Khan and sitar master Ravi Shankar.

When singer, fiddler and songwriter Lily Henley set out to make an album of Sephardic Jewish ballads set to new melodies, she was looking for her own way to interpret a critically endangered tradition. On Oras Dezaoradas (out on Lior Éditions Records), Henley highlights the Ladino language, a threatened tongue that fuses old Spanish with Hebrew, Arabic, and Turkish elements that is spoken by less than 100,000 people in the world today. She found herself directly connected to centuries of women spread across a forced global diaspora. The album is not a reinterpretation project—Henley’s newly-penned songs and melodies are a reclamation and contribution, a living line between her musical roots in American and Celtic traditions and the rich history and culture of her Sephardi ancestors.

These songs carry the hopes and dreams, daily worries, and existential thoughts of the Sephardic people. They tell stories of everyday life, loss, exile, lovers quarrels and advice-seeking daughters. Known for her expressive songwriting, gifted fiddling, and bell-like vocals, Henley brings new life to these songs and the independent female characters in them—drawing from a well so deep that disparate listeners all feel a connection to their own heritage.

With a repertoire encompassing both her Sephardi musical lineage & and a broad expanse of influences from across the folk world, in concert Henley weaves ancient and modern languages, cultures and styles to reveal their interconnectedness, and ours.

Each piece is a journey — at once intimate and expansive — weaving the precision of classical music with the soulful intensity of Balkan folk and the atmospheric pull of film scores.

Goran's original compositions draw from a rich tapestry of influences — classical, Balkan, cinematic soundtracks and contemporary harmonic language. His music is rooted in the acoustic tradition, yet constantly evolving, blending intricate fingerstyle technique with deeply emotional storytelling.

Performing on both classical and acoustic guitar, Goran’s playing is virtuosic and lyrical, captivating listeners with fluid dynamics, harmonic complexity, and rhythmic drive. He performs exclusively on finely crafted instruments: acoustic guitars by Collings Guitars and classical guitars by renowned Granada luthier Juan García Fernández. These exceptional instruments are an integral part of his voice, allowing for both nuanced expression and powerful projection.
