We want to congratulate our Brother Rodolfo "Campeador" Cervantes on completing his first year of teaching at Pritzker College Prep. He took on a number of classes, co-led an advisory, and even founded a Latinx performing arts student group all within an academic year. We're excited to see everything what you'll accomplish next!

We all may know him as Rudy, but his students know him as "Mr. Cervantes".

This past weekend, two of our alum, Gil Juarez and Rodolfo Cervantes, had the opportunity to attend the 2018 SLB Chicago Alumni Network Scholarships & Awards Gala.

On a gracious note, our very own brother Rudy was recognized as the Cultural Awareness Award recipient. It was great having to see them both catch up with brothers and meet new ones!

We want to wish the best of luck to our brother Rodolfo "Campeador" Cervantes as he starts his second day as a teacher at Pritzker College Prep in the Hermosa neighborhood of Chicago. We look forward to seeing your impact in and outside of the classroom. We're sure your students are excited to learn from you and enjoy all of your signature jokes.

The second brotherly update for the summer goes to none other than our neo, #17 Daniel Medina "Monarca"!!

Daniel is also another of our newest alumni. He graduated with a Economics major and BIP minor. Currently, Daniel has recently started working as an analyst in the valuation & strategy group for Ocean Tomo, an Intellectual Capital Merchant Banc Firm that provides opinion, management, and advisory services on intellectual property assets. So if you ever want to refinance your home, he is "D-Man" to reach out for friendly advice. We are proud of you Danny Boy, keep it going!!

We hope everyone is having a great summer! It's been a little bit over a month since school's been out, and so far we have been a part of amazing opportunities. With that being said, we would like to update you on what our brothers have been up to this summer.

The first on the list is #13 Esai Orozco "Shoji", one of our newest alumni!!

Currently Esai is studying abroad in Cochabamba, Bolivia through the Global Engagement Studies Institute (GESI). Not only is Esai enjoying the immense culture and the delicious food Bolivia has to offer, but he is also providing his efforts to an organization called Tukuy Pacha. Tukuy Pacha serves people from low income backgrounds and its mission is to influence the management capacity of the State and society to improve the living conditions of vulnerable groups. Tukuy Pacha wishes to become a leading institution in the management of public policies for vulnerable groups in the context of community development.

Today 3 of our seniors participated in their first graduation ceremony! Thank you to Latino Alumni of Northwestern University - LANU and Northwestern University Multicultural Student Affairs for graciously providing our members with stoles of their respective countries. Gentlemen, know that your hard work has paid off. Wherever life takes you, we know you all will accomplish great things!!

Congratulations to our newest member, #17 Daniel "Monarca" Medina, for becoming a brother of the most honorable Sigma Lambda Beta International Fraternity Inc. As the CAPTAIN and ANCHOR of your ship, you definitely were able to NAVIGATE and HOLD IT DOWN all the way. It was a pleasure to have seen you grow throughout this process. Your hard work and dedication paid off. We know for sure that wherever life takes you, you will accomplish great things, there is no doubt about that. We are all proud of you Dany Boy!
