Huge thanks to everyone who joined last week’s Youth, Teen & Family Community Cares Club! It was all hands on deck assembling kits for the new baby pantry at the Childcare Network of Evanston. Today is the last meeting of the season- please join us to wrap up the spring with fun and meaningful mutual aid projects that forge foundation skills and help our local community!

Art Makers Outpost is the weekend hangout spot this summer! New this year, young artists are invited to drop in for Maker Days on select Saturdays throughout the season. During these two hour sessions, join us to create inspired art & projects using recycled materials & traditional art supplies & all kinds of techniques- painting & sculpture, wearable art, sewing, wood-shop, mask making and more! The countdown is on! Summer Camp 2026 is just two weeks away, and we couldn’t be more excited! Our unique programs nurture an appreciation for creativity, sustainability, and imagination, and instill a sense of belonging in every young artist! With the guidance of our skilled Art Facilitators, artists explore recycled and traditional art materials, along with a variety of tools, in a supportive and inclusive environment. Anything they imagine, they can create!

This year’s summer camp offers 17 programs over 10 weeks with a variety of flexible options for artists ages 6-14. Programs include Morning Camp with free-form art making; Afternoon Camp with themed sessions; Youth Entrepreneurial Art Focus Camp; Mural Camp; Mask, Wearables & Therian Makers; plus a special CIT program for teens!

Tomorrow! Join us for the next meeting of the AMO Youth, Teen & Family Community Care Club! This exciting initiative, in partnership with Evanston Community Cares & Evanston Community Fridges, offers a youth-centered opportunity for younger members of our community to participate in mutual aid and forge foundational skills while responding to real, documented community needs. This weekend! Art Makers Outpost AMO is partnering with a coalition of Evanston organizations to collect items for the new baby pantry at the Child Care Network! Please help ensure our local families have access to essential items like diapers, baby wipes, snacks, lotion, and towels! There are several opportunities to drop off items:

✨AMO tent at YEA Fest, May 16 from 10am-3pm at Raymond Park
✨Art Makers Outpost, 609 South Blvd, on May 19 from 3:30-5:30pm during the Evanston Community Cares Club!

This Friday! It’s our LAST Youth After Dark Social of the season! This popular program offers a low-key opportunity for tweens & teens to get creative. While your kiddo is with us on these special evenings they can chill, hang with friends, eat pizza, play a game or create anything in our studio. This is a very relaxed evening, and art making is not required. If chilling and hanging with friends in a safe space is what they want to do, that is totally fine with us. As always your children will have the opportunity to explore our studio and make anything they would like while they are with us! Swipe for some photos of recent creations!

Meet Ellie (she/they), Zoe (she/her), and Ally (she/her)—three ETHS sophomore Chem/Phys students on a mission to turn waste into wonder! They’re passionate about sustainability and want to show you how to breathe new life into everyday household plastics.

​What: A fun, free, all-ages recycled art workshop!

When: Tuesday, May 12th | 4:30 PM – 6:00 PM

Where: Art Makers Outpost

​Stop by this community drop-in to learn creative ways to transform plastic bags, bottles, and more into unique art. Whether you're a budding scientist or a lifelong artist, all are welcome to join these amazing ETHS students for an afternoon of eco-friendly crafting!
