This business is for self-proclaimed-non-artists. Joni Marzofka, founder and owner, has a heart to teach women who think they can't paint, how to paint, while at the same time getting Scripture it! New Roots Art teaches ladies and children of all ages by directing step by step how to paint the design and enables the painter to complete a finished canvas that will go home with the painter at the end of the party. At today's paint party we looked at
Psalm 103:1
"Bless the LORD, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless his holy name!"
Romans 12:12
"Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer."
And
Proverbs 27:9
"The heartfelt counsel of a friend is as sweet as perfume and incense."
May we as Christians choose praise and gratitude and experience true worship as we recognize and revere God's perfect, pure, and righteous character. May we have a positive outlook and rejoice in the confident hope of God's promises. During difficult times, trials, or troubles we are able to remain steadfast and endure as we find strength and comfort in God. Friendships rooted in Christ will bring comfort, refreshment, and good counsel. Treasure your trusted friends that bring joy to your life and point you to Christ. What a privilege it was today to fellowship with fellow believers and paint God's truth on canvas together.

I had the privilege to paint with Gateway Grant Services at Mosaic Church in Evans today. What a great way to have some fun with coworkers!
We reflected on scripture like Psalm 46:1
"God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble" and Psalm 61:2 "From the ends of the earth I call to you, I call as my heart grows faint; lead me to the rock that is higher than I"
What a blessing it is to have a God and Father that is a secure shelter that we can trust to protect and be a constant presence. When we fail, He is an ever-present help. God is not distant, He is a source of strength and a firm foundation. In a relationship with Christ is the only place to find true peace, stability, and refuge. May we run to HIM!

1 John 5:12 "Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life."
Psalm 46:10 "Be still, and know that I am God,"
Zephaniah 3:17 "The LORD your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with loud singing".
Isaiah 25:1 "O LORD, you are my God; I will exalt you and praise your name, for in perfect faithfulness you have done wonderful things, things planned long ago."
These 4 verses were painted last night on our canvases, verses that highlight that eternal life is found exclusively in having a relationship with Jesus Christ, the Son of God. We need to cease striving, worrying, and fearing, and trust in God’s absolute sovereignty. Rest in His power and recognize His control. God will protect, He has the power to save, and His profound, joyful love for His people will offer comfort and assurance in many seasons of life that we face. Trust him, surrender to Him.
His word is powerful and life giving. These paint parties are .

Let me paint with your women's ministry, friend group, family, or small group. Art therapy is a great tool to be used to refocus and with reflect on scripture from God's holy word.

Oh what fun little girls birthday parties are. For Allison's 6th birthday we painted the cupcake design with Psalm 4:7 as our verse and they had a blast!
Psalm 4:7 says, "You have filled my heart with more joy than when grain and new wine abound." This verse reminds us that the joy we experience from God is far greater than any other joy found in worldly things. True and lasting joy comes from a relationship with God. May we look to Him to find our purpose, security, and fulfillment.

It's the support from painters like Paula Carpenter Reardon that make me so grateful for the friendships that have formed because of this business.
I have been teaching these paint parties since 2015 and Paula has been attending parties regularly 8 out of those 10 years. She has affectionately been deemed a "groupie" and has not only been a blessing to me and my family but also to the people who sit next to her at paint parties! Love you Paula and thank you for all the love, support, & memories.

Check out these cuties who painted a verse from Proverbs 27:9. As they celebrated their sweet friend turning 6 we were reminded that true friendship is a source of joy and that they build you up and not tear you down. Friends you should be loyal to are the ones who challenge and improve you, sticks by you, are loving, kind, and genuinely care about you.
There’s something irreplaceable about the friendships that you form at a young age.
We played, we laughed, we painted, and we had a good time.

My family & I will be doing a service project with our church as well as other local churches on October 18th from 9-12pm. We will be painting Saint Sebastian Tunnel (near Enterprise Mill). If you & your family would like to join we would love to have you help us bless our city.
