Four years ago today...😱

I can’t believe it has been that long! So glad to have worked with such wonderful teachers who pushed me to develop into the musician and person I am today as well as to have gotten the chance to pursue my passion in school.

Performing terrified me for a long time, I was “not the person who sang solos.” However I had a wonderful voice teacher who reminded me that it was God who gave me my voice, and I should use it to sing and glorify Him, not I but Him. I may have heard this idea before but it never really clicked. Voice lessons formed me as a musician but were so much more. I grew so much as a person through them as well and am forever grateful.

I miss performing as much as I did in school. However have been glad to sing as I get the chance to! ❤️

Shoutout to the man on the keys: Felipe Rodrigues, without whom I could not have done any of my repertoire while pursuing my Masters. 😳 Listen to that piano.....

I hope that this after this crisis I can return to giving some lessons. After my crazy year and now this- I’m so ready!!!

It has been a crazy 2019...However I’m hoping to resume lessons probably in March following my maternity leave. Our little man came home December 6th! ❤️🎄 Just in time for Christmas after 150 days in the NICU. We feel incredibly blessed!

The same weekend I brought him home...I performed with Grace Presbyterian Church for their Family Christmas Program. If you have free time at 12p- turn on 25 for a wonderful Christmas Program! I sing about 3/4 into the show I would guess.

Good evening! Just wanted to update that currently I am not able to give lessons. I will be giving lessons again but don’t have an exact start date. I have been admitted to OSF for complications with my pregnancy. If you are interested in reading more, you can check out the blog below.

Dusting off my first official Mezzo-Soprano aria I learned and found a wonderful note from my first voice teacher, Shirley Salazar. Revisiting this beautiful melody and seeing this reminder is a great way to spend part of my evening. Voice lessons take potential and help it to bloom! Thank you Shirley and Debra Austin for helping do that for me!

It has been a week since I began this page. 🎉 I am grateful for everyone sharing and liking it, thank you all! 😊

For some of you, this may be the first interaction you have had with me. I wanted to share a video of my Graduate Recital at ISU so anyone on my page can know what I sound like. I feel so blessed to have the instruction I have and want to pass on my passion and knowledge to others! Thanks for following me as I pursue this!

This selection is English and was a fun second to last set on my hour and a half recital. The piece is a set of 4 songs by Britten. My personal favorite was 3- Johnny. It was a tough one to have near the end, but oh so fun!

Hello! My name is Rebecca Crumrine and I am a classically trained Mezzo-soprano living in Eureka, IL. I graduated with my Bachelor’s in Vocal Performance and went on to receive my Master’s of Music in Vocal Performance from Illinois State University.

Singing is a talent and passion of mine that I want to help spread to others through teaching. Voice lessons are at least a half hour in length bi-weekly or monthly. Please message me for more information if you are interested!
