Construction at 535 5th St. continues! Today, Thursday August 27th Ink People will be closing at 3pm. Tomorrow, Friday August 28th our open hours will be 10am - 1pm. For urgent matters, please text Leslie.

Ink People office hours may be disrupted now through the month of September due to construction. If you plan on visiting, call our office ahead of time to confirm folks will be there to greet you! (707) 442 - 8413

An exclusive in-person screening of The Power of Small in Arcata.

The film follows 6 people, out of a larger group of 50, each given significant resources to express generosity. Several of the people in the film are from right here in Arcata and Trinidad.

Tickets are $10 for general admission (includes the film, panel, and reception). All proceeds support Redwood Coast Reading Alliance (RCRA), an information and resource hub for individuals, families, educators, and physicians in Humboldt County interested in reading and dyslexia, and a DreamMaker Project of the
Ink People.

This show will celebrate the opening of our new permanent space as well as all of the artists and culture bearers who have been involved with the Ink People throughout our almost 5 decades of existence. Don't miss out on sharing your work in this show that is sure to be eclectic, diverse, and wildly creative!
No fee for entry, listing work for sale is optional with a portion going back toward supporting the gallery.

Call for creatives!

Calling all illustrators, cartographers, and carpenters who have a connection to Wigi/Humboldt Bay! 🌊

Stories of Wigi is seeking illustrators to create art that brings stories from the Wiyot and Jarojiji/Eureka community to life! Illustrations may be featured in a book, maps, or signage.

This project is also seeking cartographers to create a high-quality map that shows themes from the collection of 59 storytellers unfolding across the landscape.

As well as seeking a carpenter interested in constructing a booth that can house a tablet where people can listen to recordings of stories. The booth created must be modular and wheelchair-accessible.

These are paid opportunities to contribute to Stories of Wigi, a coastal storytelling project centering Wigi/Humboldt Bay. The materials made through this collaboration will be filled with the rich narratives of our community, presented in gallery spaces, and made publicly available in businesses and destinations; creating a constellation of stories unique to Wigi and Jaroujiji.
