Copy of my last email:
Hello, everyone!
I think you'll all be pleased to hear that your children are doing great, and should be ready for performances by next week! So, as we prepare for that, let me give you a rundown of this week's schedule, and the plan going into performances.
This week, we will continue to be meeting from 6pm - 9pm at Christ Lutheran Church in the basement, EXCEPT for Thursday. Please remember to use the bell tower door; it's at the end of the ramp on the back of the church. That's the only door I have a key for, so it will be the only door that is open for sure.
On Thursday, however, we will be FINALLY building flats! In order to keep the church clean, we will be moving the workshops to my home on 900 E. 3rd St., from 6 - 9pm. Please make sure that the kids are dressed properly for Thursday. This means no open-toed shoes, long pants are preferable, short sleeves, and girls should have their hair pulled back into a bun or ponytail. We will also be painting, so make sure they are in clothes they won't mind getting messy. I will provide protective eyewear. Please note that we will have adult supervision, AND the children will not be operating any saws. The wood will already be precut, so they will only be using a drill or screwdriver. If you have any concerns, please let me know.
Performances will be happening in the outdoor pavilion on the corner of River and Main, where the stoplight is. As the weather is going to be rather warm, I am committing some of the Follies budget to buying some fans, and cases of water, to make sure the kids stay as cool and comfortable as possible.
However, I still need to hear from you as far as dates. Several people have informed me that this weekend is no longer a possibility due to recent scheduling conflicts, so we're now looking at weekday performances. I don't want to schedule performances that conflict with any of the kids, so please get back to me promptly about what dates will not work for you next week. We're looking toward the beginning of the week, because I know some of the kids are heading off to college at the end of the week.
Also, we have snacks being provided for tonight's workshop, but if anyone is willing to do snacks for the rest of the week, please let me know. If you would like to communicate with one another to work out a schedule for the week, that would be great as well. Please reply to this email with any questions you might have, and let me know what days do and don't work for you as far as performances. Thank you all so much for your support throughout the summer! I am confident that your kids will do a great job!
