Artists do more than just provide us with beautiful creations that enhance our homes and public spaces. They also provide an historical record of people, events, buildings and landscapes. Long before the advent of photography, artists gave us a glimpse into the history of our surroundings.
The Eureka Plein Air Artists ventured out to Beulah Church this past Wednesday in order to capture a moment in time of this old wooden structure. Located on 23 South outside Eureka Springs, it is a reminder of times and lives past, as it also is the site of a cemetery.
Paul took this photo of his sketch done in charcoal, which will make a lovely painting and add to the historical record of this simple community church.
