Wow, so much to say…Mendigan you are one of the most beautiful human beings I have ever met. Stepping into the club scene and a pageant has truly been trial by fire. Many critique, very few truly love, and uplift.
You have taught me that there is no manual to navigating the drag community. Sometimes adversity hits hard. You have been there since day one. You showed me that the rivers run deep in the drag community. You showed me love when few did. You stood by when others walked away. You continue to show that there are many quality drag entertainers that still exist who haven’t allow experiences to tarnish them.
You were the sole reason we decided to begin the journey of Arkansas Continental. This journey has sure been an emotional one, but one of the most fulfilling. You mean more to me than you will ever begin to know.
You were one of the first trans girls to come out in Arkansas. Your sacrifice, your fight, and your love continues to pave the way for others within our community. Arkansas is lucky to have you.
It’s been 15 years since you last competed on the national stage for Miss Continental Plus. You have put in the work. You have made the sacrifices. I have all the confidence in the world when I say, you ARE ready!
I am so proud of the person you have become. I am thankful to call you not only my close friend but my family. You have made my first year as a promoter so full! You have been an amazing representation of what a title holder should embody.
I cannot wait for everyone to meet the Mendigan I know and love. Now, let’s sn**ch that crown and bring it home to Arkansas!
I love you Mendigan Iman Starr, my forever Miss Arkansas Continental Plus
