The Braking Zone's race ambassador had a busy May with two race events. Unfortunately the Corvette is still in the shop but Brandon was able to race his street car in the Emerald Empire Sports Car Club (EESCC) autocross event in Glide, and his spec racer at Thunderhill. We also participated in the first Whiteaker Last Friday ArtWalk of the season, so thank you to everyone who stopped by!

We missed having a Wednesday Race night in May due to travel and race calendars, but we have already started to plan for June through August. Stay tuned for an announcement here and through email.

There are two days left in the May Challenge - Corvette C7R at Zandvoort - and plenty of room left to compete. Noah, AJ, and Slater won last month and are NOT eligible, which means that Jerry, Chase, and Dominic have the times to beat. There's a four second spread between Jerry and and Dominic which is an eternity in racing time... Shouldn't be tough to beat, right?

Join us today for the first Whiteaker Last Friday ArtWalk of the season! We have art from Troy Jacobson and other local artists this month. We still have plenty of space on our walls so please reach out if you are interested! We support the Bitforest Eugene Developer community by hosting artists with a video game and automotive theme.

Thank you everyone who came in last weekend - It was a great couple days with some new faces on Saturday and some regulars on Sunday. This is why we do it, folks!

There are seven participants in the May Challenge so far: Noah, AJ and Jerry are in the lead but there's a wide spread - five seconds on a 1:39:530 par - and plenty of time left in the month. Come down and give it a try this weekend!

So far only one person (AJ) has beat par for the May Challenge, which is set at 1:40. You know what else can be a challenge? Finding a good way to spend time with your Mother on Mother's day. This Sunday (May 10) only we are offering free race time for your Mother (or other parental figure) while you race. That's a one-day BOGO deal!

I didn't want to start repeating tracks, but the thing is I also want each challenge to be "fun". So, for me, it's always about finding a good combination. And the C7R is just fun on Zandvoort. Whereas some faster cars end up being more frustrating. For those who took our December challenge, a lap in the C7R should be about 10 - 15 seconds faster.

We will be at the EESCC Autocross event in Glide, Oregon this weekend. The shop will be open and we look forward to seeing the first few times on the leaderboard!

One of the things that's wonderful about Sim Racing is the ability to time travel. The RSK Spyder was probably my dad's favorite car, and for me, the '60s really seem like a mythical golden age of motorsport. I wanted to find out.

The Sypder may be a '60s icon, but as Noah put it after setting his winning lap, "every single corner felt wrong somehow". Frankly, for a car who's origins date to 1955, I think it drives rather well.

Prizes for this month go to Noah, AJ, and Slater.
