Today marks 14 years since my dad, Kevin “The Bear” passed away. He was a complicated man, but loved me and our family with all of his heart. Thanks to him, I do a sport that enriches my life and has brought me so much happiness and a strong sense of community. Thank you for gifting me with a few years of competing alongside you and watching you grow into a better man. Love you always, dad.

Watching his old BJJ competition footage brings me so much joy. He tried so hard, all of the time. I would go to competitions with him when I was 17 and now see where I get my guard pulling skills from 😋

✨NEW Calendar for March 2026🗓️ ✨

Join us on Sunday 12p-1:30p at on 1590 Willamette St. for beginner No-Gi Jiu-Jitsu with coach 🤩💖

UPDATE for March 2026: we’ve made a new waiver for students to fill out. ALL student must sign the waiver again, even if they have filled it out before! Please read the form and fill out before class 🙏
We also moved to the Willamette Lavender Network location!

⚠️😷 Masks will also be required for classes now 🙌 in an attempt to make sure we are all safe and healthy to keep fighting, as well as allow for all community members to feel safe joining, we will make classes mask mandatory. Feel free to take breaks and get fresh air during class activities.

Every last Sunday of the month will be a community open mat from 12p-2p! Bring a friend, roll around, and skill share with us! 💥 (Striking and other self defense sparing welcome!)
•
🚫 Class will be canceled on March 8th while our students are competing at a tournament! 🏟️

Due to an event in the building, classes will be moved to 6:30pm on 3/22/26, 7/5/26, and 10/25/26

Weekly Beginer No Gi Class:

🕐 Open Mat: 1:30 PM - 2 PM

✔️ Clean workout clothes (shorts, leggings, or spats without a zipper)

✔️ Flip-flops or easy-to-slip-on shoes (for when you need to step off the mat)
✔️ Mouth guard (pick one up for free during class!)

What to expect:
NoGi grappling is an amazing way to get fit, have fun, and build community. You’ll learn self-defense skills in a supportive and controlled environment! We do a series of interactive games and activities that help build the foundations of controlling and escaping from difficult positions. Be aware that we do full contact, but all activities are opt-in and you are welcome to participate at your comfort level. It’s a ton of fun and we hope to see you there! 💪🏽✨
