Since 1988 I have been making beautiful looking and beautiful sounding frame drums.
They can be played as drums, and also sang across to add rich resonance to one's voice.
Many who've bought these have used them for Sound Healing work.
Played as drums, they have rich tone, responding to even the gentlest of touch.
No mass produced sameness here as each drum is very unique....
What you see here are:
18"x2.5" drum made from Purpleheart wood.... extremely resonant top of my line drum.... Asking $290 for it.
Next is a 16"x4" made from Oak wood.... professional quality sound and beautiful golden hue to this mystery type of Oak.... $180
...and a 14"x4" made from San Francisco Bay Area Eucalyptus wood... This one will be excellent in a drier climate.... and in damper climates still has a beautiful tone.... I just find that this one sounds really beautiful on hotter drier days... $225 for this one...
The price differences are based on a) how easy or difficult it is to bend each kind of wood into a hoop and b) how easy or difficult it is to obtain the wood.
All my drums are professional quality, however the Purpleheart drums I consider to be "ultra-professional" quality.

I'm also available for private drum lessons, and can travel to teach frame drum (and doumbek) workshops...
