Videos incoming!

In what was possibly the craziest Blue Room show to date, the 15-piece hip hop ensemble known as the Illaquips took over our stage for an hour of dope music. Brad Philips and Trenton Marquart captured the madness on video, and the 'Quips own August King recently put together an edit of the footage. Thank you for a great two years Eugene! Last night, we turned off our lights for the last time. Building our little venue from the ground up has been simultaneously insane and incredibly rewarding. When the Blue Room started, we expected our first show to be our last. We wound up hosting musicians from as far away as Thailand, and worked so many amazing bands from all over the country. Seemingly every genre of music came through our space: avant-garde jazz trios, djent shredders, folk singer-songwriters, 15-piece hip hop ensembles and everything in between. And through that, we’ve been fortunate to form relationships with so many different musicians in this quirky little community, something we are truly grateful for.

There are obviously questions about what our team is going to be doing now that the Blue Room has closed its doors. While the details are still being worked out, we plan on staying actively involved in the music scene. One of the ways we will be doing that is by producing shows at various venues around Eugene. Long story short, don’t stop sending show requests our way! This is the end of an era, but a new era is starting now.

The first Blue Room show was exactly one year ago today! Huge thanks to all the bands, both locally and from around the world (literally) that have performed in our space. We also have to thank all of the great community members that have helped make this space what it is. And finally, thanks to all the attendees, who keep our space running and make the shows worthwhile. It's been a good year!

Thank you to everyone who played at, booked, or attended a Blue Room show this year. You've helped make our first year of existence a huge success, and we're so glad we were able to throw so many unique shows. We've got a lot of exciting plans for 2018, including a full slate of shows with a bunch of new bands in January!
