another cool show i am a part of on feb.10 is WINTER NOISE. it will feature music from experimental, rap, and dance artists. ive been trying to perform on a mixed genre bill for a while now so i am so happy this is happening, especially where i have seen so many great punk, emo, screamo, and metal shows.

come out on mon. feb. 10 at 7pm for a night of local music and artist vendors!

im so excited to be a part of the cast for VIBRANT! an all-BIPOC Drag party w/ performances by , , , burlesque by , and hosted by & .aqua.flora!

i will be doing a special live set in honor of the show's 3rd anniversary! being a part of Eugene's only all-BIPOC drag show has meant so much to me bc it is the first show where i got my start in the local scene. Come kick off Black History Month with drag, burlesque, and live music!

✨hey yall, im so excited to be sharing my next project that drops this friday!!

leading up to the release i wanna talk about some of the polaroids i chose for the album cover. each of them were taken at a special moment in my journey as an artist.

1. was taken at .live (😢) back in oct. 2022 around the time i first started performing there. this was during the "white girl" sets i was doing where i would do rap interpretations of famous white girls. (its gonna be an album one day i swear) i loved putting this look together. it was my first time feeling confident enough to present more femme. (i must admit i hate i havent continued to experiment w my femme side in this way more, its something ive been thinking abt recently). this was such a great night for me and i rly felt i grew from this performance.

2. was taken near my apt. my friend wanted to practice taking pics on her new polaroid mini and asked me to be a model. ofc i obliged bc i wanted to live in my model fantasy and i had been watching so much antm around this time. i liked the way she captured me here. soft. looking u right in the eye. its such an engaging photo.

3. was taken around thanksgiving 2023 at a friends house. we all know i love a black/pink moment so i just had to give that for the holiday. i am sure i was so stressed as i was nearing the end of my phd and wondering what i was gonna do next.. but am i fooling u w that smile?

✨be on fhe lookout for the bougie bitch music, vol. 1 drops! i feel like i am becoming a much stronger performer and writer and so i hope yall give it a listen. 💕

bougie bitch music, vol. 1 - 12/6

im ending this year w another release!

this project is a collection of things i was working on since july. i wanted to pick up where i left off in my last project, LOLs. it has that same femme trap vibe but over the course of working on this one i wanted to add a more emotional side to my sound. i am embracing this development in my artistry & yall can be on the lookout for a transformation.

this just feels so special to be at a point to where i am continuing to build a catalouge of music. i cant say how much i have appreciated all of the encouragement from local artists, friends, and fans. eugene is an isolating place for a black q***r person (as yall know). & so im just happy to have a community of ppl around me. i cant do it w/o yall!

in the meantime: listen to THIQUMS & LOLs & all the other things ive done on spotify & wherever u stream.

i just wanna say a huge thank u to evry1 who voted for me in the best local fiction writer or poet category in . this yr i came in 2nd!!

big congrats to for all the work u have been doing in the community for YEARS!

this is exactly the news i needed as im adjusting to my new position and trying to find balance in my creative life. its so encouraging that there are folks out there who believe in me.

ill be getting back into releasing things very soon, stay tuned💕💕

hi evry1!

im pleased to share that i will be at the University of Oregon for another year as a postdoctoral fellow in African American Literatures and Cultural Productions. this position will give me experience teaching af am lit, support to continue my reseach on ratchet aesthetics, and more time to apply for my next position.

this journey has been tough for me emotionally with me having many restless nights of wondering if i belonged in academia, if my writing and research was actually of substance, and if i was an effective teacher. i think the biggest thing for me is that i compare myself too much to people who have years of experience. i can't say that i am getting better at not doing that but im at least recognizing that its going to take me time and a lot of effort to get to where i am supposed to be in this career field.

many thanks to all my friends, family, and mentors who have encouraged me. i am indebted to u all💕
