Meet the artist, Rachel Kurtz ~

Originally from Eufaula, Rachel is a Wiregrass artist and gallery owner whose mixed media work is inspired by Southern culture, landscapes, and everyday life. She is the owner of Southern Strokes Art and The Velvet Art Gallery in Dothan, Alabama, and holds a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Fine/Studio Arts.

Rachel shares her passion for painting through her classes; having taught in New Orleans and Auburn, as well as locally at her gallery and coming-up at Old Pecan Factory in June & July. Rachel will be teaching (2) Eufaula Kids Summer Art Camps, where each day features a new and unique art project (with different projects in each camp!).
