Well… Summer Farm Camp 2026 and year 7 has officially come to an end.

They say all good things must come to an end, and while my heart is a little heavy today, it’s also incredibly full.

We wrapped up the day with a visit from Caroline and Kathy with Franklin County Soil Conservation. They picked up right where our beekeeper left off yesterday, teaching the kids how bees and pollination work together to help our world grow. Then everyone planted wildflower seeds so we could do our small part in helping our pollinators thrive.

After that, it was time for one last trip to love on the animals, snuggle some bunnies, laugh with Louie, and soak up every last farm memory. Those moments are always some of my favorites.

Of course, we couldn’t end camp without one final afternoon on the water slide, followed by the much-anticipated arrival of the ice cream truck.

As I look back on this summer, my heart is overflowing with gratitude. Thank you to every child who filled Bean Acres with laughter and joy. Thank you to every parent who trusted us with your greatest treasures. And thank you to every guest speaker, volunteer, local business, and community partner who gave your time and talents to make this summer so meaningful.

Day 4 of Farm Camp was another one for the books!

We kicked off the morning with our favorite beekeeper, Win Phipps, who brought an observation hive so campers could watch the bees hard at work. The kids loved learning about the important role bees play, seeing real beekeeping equipment, and getting an up-close look at the hive.

After some much-needed animal snuggles before lunch, we welcomed Adley from Thompson Appalachian Hardwoods. She taught the campers why trees are so important and all the amazing things they provide us every day. She wrapped it all up with a lively game of bingo that had everyone cheering!

Another wonderful day full of learning, laughter, and farm fun. It’s hard to believe tomorrow is our very last day of Farm Camp for the summer! 🥲

Day 3 of Farm Camp was another one for the books!

We kicked off the morning with everyone’s favorite feathered camper, Louie the turkey, greeting the kids and even joining in a game of basketball. You would’ve thought he was one of the campers!

Next, we welcomed Patrick with the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department K-9 Unit. He taught the kids about the important jobs K-9 officers do and how these amazing dogs are true working partners. Then everyone got to watch Marko in action! Before he left, the campers made sure to give Marko plenty of goodbye pets and love.

After lunch, Sam and April with the Wi******er Fire Department stopped by to teach the kids about the importance of smoke detectors and having a family meeting place in case of a fire. Then came the favorite part—getting to dress up like real firefighters! To top it all off, they cooled everyone down with the fire hose, and there were smiles everywhere.

To wrap up the day, Louie made another appearance—this time deciding he was part of the baseball game! This turkey keeps us laughing and wondering what he’ll do next.

As we finish up our final week of Farm Camp, we want to give a huge THANK YOU to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department and the Wi******er Fire Department for faithfully supporting our campers all summer long. Your time, dedication, and willingness to invest in these kids have meant more than you know. We are so grateful for your partnership!

Day 2 of Farm Camp is in the books!

We started the morning with show and tell, and I always love seeing the kids proudly share something special with their friends. Then it was off to visit the bunnies, ducks, Louie the turkey, our pony, and donkey. The pony and donkey enjoyed a full spa day with brushing, grooming, and plenty of tasty treats!

This afternoon, we blew up the water slide again to help beat the Tennessee heat.

This group of kids has been amazing. They don’t complain about the heat one bit… but if they hear “Drink your water!” one more time, they may start saying it before I do. 🤣

How did we get to the LAST week of Farm Camp so fast?!

After morning drop-offs and introductions, new friendships were made almost instantly. We were so excited to welcome back David Lowrie with TWRA! He taught the kids about the different fish found in Tennessee lakes, shared important boating safety tips, and had everyone laughing during a fun fish-feeling game. A huge thank you to David for faithfully being part of Farm Camp all season. We appreciate you so much!

Next, it was time for bunny snuggles, a visit with Louie the turkey and his duck friends, and then we did the only sensible thing in this Tennessee heat…we blew up the water slide! To make the day even sweeter, everyone cooled off with snow cones.

What a great way to wrap up Week 7 of Farm Camp!

The kids soaked up every last bunny snuggle, worked on their basketball skills, took aim at archery, and made the most of every minute with their new camp friends.

We were excited to welcome Caroline and Kathy from Franklin County Soil Conservation. They built on our bee pollination lesson by helping the kids plant wildflowers so we can all do our part to help our pollinators. Oh by the way Bean Acres has honey for sale. (931)636-9546.

At lunch we celebrated a few more birthday campers, and then came everyone’s favorite Friday tradition… the water slide and waiting for the ice cream truck!

Another amazing week is in the books! It’s hard to believe we have just ONE more week of summer camp left.

I have to admit, I wondered how today would go with the weather forecast… but WOW, what a fun day!

Between basketball tournaments, a checkers challenge, archery, bunny snuggles, and the highlight of the day was playing in the rain and the muddy Gaga pit. These kids had the best time! They never missed a beat.

The mud was so much fun that some kids put their dirty clothes right back on and went for round two! 😂 That’s what being a kid is all about!

After lunch, we had a special visit from Adley with Thompson Appalachian Hardwoods. She brought a fun bingo game featuring wood products, prizes for the winners, and the sweetest surprise — every child got a wooden car made from their wood.

What a great day to be a kid at farm camp!
