Went for a walk in the woods today and found all the inspiration I needed to get the studio up and running. Great ideas for classes (Geology + Clay, Ecology + Clay..) feeling inspired again and again by this landscape.

Bittersweet Mountain Studio will be open on the Estes Park Studio Tour (Location #5). This is the future site of ceramic classes in town, come check it out. Karen McPherson Clay will be doing ceramic demonstrations (hand-building, coil-building, pinching), and show what goes into making a glaze (minerals, feldspars and coloring oxides all broken down). Estes Locals and Guests alike, check it out!
The Downtown Draw
Draw the people, places and animals of Estes Park. The Downtown Draw is part drawing class, part tour, part local lore. Experienced drawers and “I can’t draw” folks welcome. Bronze sculptures in downtown Estes Park and a rich archive of historical artifacts at the Estes Park Museum provide the backdrop for your experience. This is a great way to experience Estes Park and hang out with a local artist who has years of teaching experience.

The Downtown Draw begins at 10am, Tuesday – Friday. Meet at the Enos Mills sculpture in Bond Park on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Thursday’s group meets at the Estes Park Museum. The Draw lasts for 1 hour 45 minutes, the cost is $25 (cash or check); all supplies are provided.
