Happy Finish Friday!

I've had this finish stashed away for several years now in my Shoebox of Forgotten Finishesℒ️, and it was finally time to give it the proper respect that it deserves! And what a beautiful job my framer did! The texture on that frame just oozes with horror movie appeal, and the crimson suede matboard?! Yes, please!

πŸ•Έ π•Ώπ–π–Š π–‚π–Žπ–™π–ˆπ–π–ž π•Ύπ–™π–Žπ–™π–ˆπ–π–Šπ–— πŸ•Έ has been a huge inspiration for me not only as I got into stitching as a hobby, but into making my own designs! Every day I'm grateful for the spooky, stitching community for carving out space in this hobby for the offbeat weirdos! Cuz sometimes the granny doing these granny hobbies is actually an ancient swamp witch, and we deserve fun patterns too!

Happy WIP Wednesday!

I've been working on my model of Electric Dance and I am having such a blast stitching her!

I love the texture of her dress! I used two colors of Essentials and did the skirt in a diagonal mosaic and her torso in an encroaching gobelin and I love how it transitions from one section to the other.

Still to decide are stitches for her hair and the background. I've got Bella Lusso for the hair and I'm debating whether to do a ton of French knots or if I want to experiment with another stitch. It's been such a joy to bring her to life, pun very much intended! 🀣

And the grand finale of my Needlework Marketplace lineup! I know you shouldn't play favorites with your children, but these 3 were so fun for me to create, I can't help but hold a special fondness for them!

Introducing the Boo Buddies!!!

A mischievous group of kiddos go on an adventure during the best time of year, Halloween! Candy is everywhere, magic and mystery abounds, and we all get to pretend to be something we've always dreamed of every critter in this series has chosen a costume inspired by something they don't usually get to experience.
What if a normally cold-blooded scaly gator got to see what it's like to be warm and fuzzy? What if a snake usually stuck crawling around on its belly got to see what it's like to fly? And what if a normally night dwelling bat got to bask in the sunlight like a bright sunflower?

All 3 Buddies were stitched on Ampritrite fabric from Under the Sea Fabrics. And in order to make them cute and larger than life like stuffed animals, we went with a 10 count fabric called tula! It was an amazing fabric to work with and makes for the perfect car project. So much softer than aida, it felt like I was stitching on a blanket!

I love doing companion pieces and these two were such a joy to create! Here are Releases Number 6 and 7!

Back in ye olde days, long before pumpkins became the face of Halloween, turnips were the first vegetables we carved in our attempts to scare the ghoulies and ghosties away from our porch steps. But being replaced has left one turnip with a grudge! Now the original jack-o-antern has clawed its way back from the grave to haunt the pumpkin who stole his job!

Haunting in the Pumpkin Patch comes in kit form and contains all materials and tools needed to create your own fob. Scissors are not included. Pictured scissors are Pumpkin (DD-SC-58) from Dinky Dyes .

And I loved this idea so much, I had to spin it off with a cross stitch version using Naiad linen from Under the Sea Fabrics

Carved in Stone!

This is Ghost Boy's submission for the Stitch in Harmony color collaboration using Thread Gatherer's beautiful silk floss! All of the Stitch in Harmony pieces use the same colors which will all be available in one thread pack. Orders for both this pattern and the thread pack can be placed through your local needlework shop!

Carved in Stone is a bittersweet tribute to a love that endured beyond a lifetime. Two gravestones rest under the same tree. One stone has been wrapped with tree roots and grown over with grass as time marched on, until finally, the second stone is placed and the two lovers are reunited.

This design celebrates the kind of love that patiently waits, proving that some stories do not end in goodbye. They persist, carved in stone.

It's time for Needlework Marketplace, which means Ghost Boy has goodies to show off!

Orders can be placed through your local needlework shop!

The Sanxing symbolize the three attributes that constitute a good life in Chinese culture . You can often find these characters displayed in Chinese homes to bring these blessings upon their home! And they're just in time for the Mid-Autumn Festival!

All three patterns depict a stylized version of the word surrounded by different thematic flowers.
Fu, or "good fortune", is shown here with plum blossoms which are associated with the Five Blessings and are displayed during Chinese New Year to bring good luck!
Lu, or "prosperity", is coupled with peonies which are often called the king of flowers and are associated with wealth and prosperity.
And Shou, or "longevity", is nestled amongst slme chrysanthemums which have a long history associated health and long life.
