We are sorry to share the Lazy B Chuckwagon is closing down and will not return. This is primarily due to the unknown situation at the Dao House lodge where we have been operating. Over the past five years, we have pursued 11 other location options, including a new site build. With high land costs and restrictive zoning in Estes Park, finding a long term location for a seasonal business has proven quite a challenge.

We enjoyed keeping the Spirit of the West alive in Estes Park over 5 seasons while serving over 35,000 suppers and performed 350+ live western shows. We hope you enjoyed this unique western genre, as much as we enjoyed serving you. We sincerely thank all of you for supporting us along the way.

A special tip of the hat to Barbara Barleen, Michael J Arnott, and Jeff Olson, for being the core of our stage show all five seasons. The reviews on Trip Advisor say it all as our band delivered a great show year in and year out.

For those of you who enjoy western music, and the talent we had on stage, we recommend you visit the Flying W in Colorado Springs, the Bar D Chuckwagon in Durango, or the Barleens Dinner Show in Apache Junction, AZ.

Happy Trails,
Quentin and Roxanne Wedan

"Our American Stories", a leading nationally syndicated radio show and podcast, recently sat down for an interview with Quentin Wedan, the owner of the Lazy B to learn more about the legacy and tradition of this unique experience in Estes Park. During the interview Quentin shares his most memorable moment of Tom Justin one summer evening as he sang Ghost Riders in the Sky during a raging thunderstorm.

Quentin Wedan first started work at the Lazy B Chuckwagon and Show in order to have some money to buy a new motorbike. Somewhere along the way , the job turned into his passion.

It's that time of year when we honor the tradition and history of the Lazy B in Ested Park. The red branding iron as seen in this ad from 1969 continues to be used as symbol of cowboy life in the west.

So where does the "B" in Lazy B come from? Babe Humphrey was one of several founding wrangler singers in the early 1960's and his name inspired the use of our "B". Babe would later go on to start the Bar J Chuckwagon in Jackson, WY which he and his family operated from 1978 to their final season last summer. Babe was a popular yodeler and also appeared at the Grand Ol' Opry. The folks in Nashville told him the idea of a Chuckwagon supper and show where the guests would come to him would never work. There are now 7 locations across the west who host guests from around the country to enjoy an authentic cowboy supper and hear songs of the old west.

We are proud to keep this tradition alive at the Lazy B Chuckwagon and Show in Estes Park Colorado. Our season runs June 18th through September 24th and tickets are on sale from our website. www. LazyBChuckwagon.com
