We have received a few questions about the unforeseen circumstances we mentioned regarding the cancellation of The Rocky Horror Show on Friday, 04/03/2026.

Just to clarify, threats were made against our production that are currently under investigation by the Essex Police Department. We hope for a swift resolution. In the meantime, a joint decision was made by the production team and the board that, to ensure the safety of everyone concerned, we could not proceed with the production.

We are extremely saddened by this turn of events. Our theater community must remain vibrant, inclusive, and, above all, joyful.

Essex Community Players is currently seeking to fill a three month term on our board of directors. The term would run April, May and June. All of those parties interested in taking up the mantle are invited to come to our next public board meeting April 20, 2026 6:30 PM at the Essex Police Department community room.

Those interested in making their case for this board position need to be present at the aforementioned time to be considered .

We are currently seeking to fill the role of Eddie in ECP's The Rocky Horror Show! Actors interested in auditioning must be able to sing at the ranges of Rock Tenor or Alto with high belt. Auditions will be held at the Essex Police Department from 6:30-9pm December 30th.
